For a project in collaboration with Region Västmanland we were tasked with creating a training environment for operating room nurses using virtual reality. The 3D objects were created in 3ds Max, although Stille were kind enough to lend us CAD-files for many of the instruments. The environment itself was built in Unity. During the process, usability testing was conducted, and in the final test, the prototype was also evaluated quantitatively using SUS, SSQ, and NASA-TLX.
The prototype was highly successful and was later on further developed by the company ByBricks. On November 22nd 2024 we participated in Kunskapsdagen at Västmanland hospital and held a presentation about our project.

In this project, my experience from the healthcare sector truly came into play—both my knowledge of medical technology and my firsthand experience of moving within an operating room and understanding how sterile surfaces are managed.
My main focus in this project was 3D modelling, and in the pictures below you can see a few examples of models I created: the cage containing the surgical instruments, the covers on the patient, the tables and cloths on the tables, the drill parts, and a few of the instruments.
